Hubbell raises dividend 7 percent, lifting annual payout to 6.08 per share

Hubbell Incorporated has raised its common stock dividend by 7 percent, lifting the annual payout to $6.08 per share. The electrical products maker announced the increase on October 23, 2026, and will pay the new quarterly dividend of $1.52 per share on December 15, 2026, to shareholders of record on November 30.

What Hubbell’s board approved

Hubbell (NYSE: HUBB) said its board of directors declared the increase from the former rate of $5.68 per share annually, or $1.42 per quarter. The company manufactures electrical and electronic products for utility, industrial, commercial, and residential customers, including equipment used in electricity transmission and distribution. Shares go ex-dividend in late November for holders who want the December payment.

The yield and the income math

Hubbell stock closed at $448.10 on October 23, 2026. At that price, the new $6.08 annual dividend produces a yield of about 1.4 percent, holding roughly steady with the payout’s recent level after a strong run in the shares.

The raise is modest in percentage terms, but it compounds for income-focused shareholders. An investor with $100,000 in HUBB stock at $448.10 would own approximately 223 shares. At the new rate, that position generates roughly $1,357 in annual dividend income, about $89 more per year than the former rate paid on the same holding.

For a retiree holding $400,000 in a diversified portfolio who allocates 5 percent to HUBB, the position would be worth $20,000 and produce about $271 in annual dividends at the new rate. That income stream matters less for its size than for its direction: the payout has moved higher, not lower, which is the signal most dividend investors watch.

Why the payout looks secure

The dividend is well covered by earnings. Hubbell’s second-quarter 2026 results, reported in July, showed revenue of $1.71 billion, net income of $240.4 million, and diluted earnings of $4.52 per share. Adjusted earnings came in at $5.52 per share, giving the company ample room above the $1.42 quarterly dividend. The company paid $75 million in dividends during the quarter, roughly 31 percent of net income.

Hubbell generated about $5.8 billion of revenue in 2025 and carries a market capitalization near $23.5 billion. Its products serve electric utilities and industrial customers, a base tied to ongoing spending on grid maintenance and expansion.

What to watch

Investors who want the December 15 payment must own shares before the November 30 record date. The key numbers to track are payout coverage as earnings grow and utility capital budgets that drive demand for Hubbell’s products. The share price has already run up hard enough to keep the yield under 1.5 percent.

A 7 percent raise from a board of directors usually signals confidence in cash generation. Income investors can treat this announcement as a dividend-growth story with a modest starting yield rather than an income stock on its own.
