SEC bars Swaggy C: Christopher Williams ran unregistered 24k Markets CFD brokerage

The Securities and Exchange Commission has barred Christopher Williams from the securities industry. Williams, a former reality television personality and online trading educator known as "Swaggy C," owned and operated 24k Markets, an unregistered online brokerage that offered stock-based contracts for differences to U.S. retail investors. The settled order, announced November 6, 2026, also imposed a $60,000 civil penalty.

What happened in the SEC order

The SEC’s order finds that Williams launched 24k Markets in 2024 and ran the platform through 2025. It offered and sold contracts for differences, or CFDs, tied to the values of U.S. and European stocks. Federal law treats those instruments as security-based swaps. 24k Markets was never registered with the Commission as a broker-dealer, and Williams was not associated with any registered broker-dealer.

The order states that Williams handled marketing and solicited customer interest in trading through the platform. He promoted the brokerage on social media and through affiliate programs. The SEC also found that he performed operational work supporting the business and its customer experience. 24k Markets ceased operations in 2025.

How the white-label platform worked

According to the order, 24k Markets did not build its own trading infrastructure. The firm contracted with third parties that sell ready-to-operate, white-label brokerage services covering technology and hosting. Those providers designed the website through which the CFDs were offered and sold. Williams supplied the brand, the audience, and the marketing reach.

Why CFD platforms raise red flags

Contracts for differences let traders speculate on price moves without owning the underlying shares. Buyers trade with borrowed capital, which magnifies both gains and losses. Because U.S. stock CFDs qualify as security-based swaps, offering them to retail investors outside the registered dealer framework is not a technicality. It strips away the protections of a regulated brokerage relationship.
