Interactive Brokers raises dividend 71 percent after Q3 revenue climbs to $1.91 billion

Interactive Brokers Group lifted its quarterly dividend by 71 percent to $0.15 per share after third-quarter net revenue climbed 16 percent to $1.91 billion. The board declared the higher payout on October 15, 2026, alongside results for the quarter ended September 30.

The setup

Interactive Brokers, based in Greenwich, Connecticut, trades on Nasdaq under the ticker IBKR. The company reported GAAP diluted earnings of $0.69 per share, up from $0.59 a year earlier, with adjusted earnings of $0.67.

The new dividend is payable December 14, 2026, to shareholders of record on December 1, 2026. The increase lifts the annualized payout to $0.60 per share from $0.35, moving the yield from roughly 0.41 percent toward 1 percent at recent prices.

Key numbers from the quarter

Metric Q3 2026 Q3 2025 Change
GAAP diluted EPS $0.69 $0.59 +17%
Adjusted EPS $0.67 $0.57 +18%
GAAP net revenue $1.91 billion $1.66 billion +16%
Adjusted net revenue $1.87 billion $1.61 billion +16%

Total equity $23.3 billion — —

Revenue of $1.914 billion came in above the $1.888 billion analysts expected, while adjusted earnings of $0.67 landed a penny below consensus. Stock trading volumes fell 24 percent from a year ago, offset by 13 percent growth in futures volume.

What the dividend increase means for income investors

The board raised the quarterly payout from $0.0875 to $0.15 per share. Chairman Thomas Peterffy said the company follows a guideline of paying dividends between half of 1 percent and 1 percent of market value, and he does not anticipate circumstances that would force a cut.

The old rate put roughly $410 of annual income on a $100,000 position at a 0.41 percent yield. At the new rate and a yield near 1 percent, the same position generates roughly $1,000 per year.

Income measure Prior rate New rate
Quarterly dividend $0.0875 $0.15
Annualized dividend $0.35 $0.60
Indicated yield About 0.41 percent Near 1 percent
Annual income on $100,000 About $410 About $1,000

Figures assume the recent share price and whole shares purchased at that level. The higher payout starts with the December 14 payment.

Customer growth behind the payout

The dividend sits on top of rapid account growth. Customer accounts rose 35 percent to 5.58 million, and customer equity climbed 27 percent to $964.7 billion.

Daily average revenue trades increased 18 percent to 4.27 million. Customer margin loans grew 36 percent to $105.2 billion, helping push net interest income up 19 percent to $1.15 billion. Commission revenue rose 12 percent to $602 million.

Risks to watch

The adjusted earnings miss was small, but it shows the business is not immune to softer equity volumes. Execution, clearing, and distribution fees jumped 46 percent to $134 million, driven by a $30 million increase in regulatory fees passed through to customers.

Margin lending also ties a slice of revenue to customer borrowing costs. A swing in short-term rates can move that income line in either direction.

Buyers should also note the guideline itself. Because the dividend targets a percentage of market value, the payout can shrink if the stock falls sharply.

Bottom line

Interactive Brokers remains a growth story that now pays a larger dividend. Income investors hunting for current yield will find richer payouts elsewhere, but the 71 percent increase signals confidence in a business that added accounts at a 35 percent clip. The shares suit growth-and-income investors better than investors who live on current yield.
